Passenger traffic at Faro Airport falls 3.9%

Passenger traffic at Faro Airport fell 3.9% in January (on the previous month), which represents an exception to the general overall performance of ANA airports in Portugal which showed an increase of 0.4% in that month.

Lisbon Airport achieved a 2.4% increase in terms of passenger traffic over the last month, whichcontributed to ANA’s positive balance.

Porto and Azores airports, both managed by ANA, registered a decrease of 1.7% and 6.3%, respectively.

The low cost segment growth (+7.6%) contributed to January’s positive balance.

ANA reported that Lisbon Airport for the first time processed more than one million passengers during the month of January.

France, Switzerland, UK and the Netherlands have achieved the greatest results in terms of passenger traffic.

In terms of major airlines, easyJet and Transavia recorded the largest increases. In January, TAP Portugal (47.7%), easyJet (13.2%) and Ryanair (11.5%) processed 72.4% of passengers at ANA airports.
