The debate over the legalisation of euthanasia in Portugal is ablaze, with petitions being signed by hundreds or thousands who either support or oppose it.
Over 500 doctors and health professionals have signed a petition calling for its legalisation, while a pro-life movement reports that it has already received over 4,000 signatures for a petition calling for a referendum.
The matter is due to be debated in Parliament on Thursday, February 20.
