Parliament calls former politicians to explain involvement in Iraq War

Four politicians are going to be called to Parliament to explain Portugal’s involvement in the Iraq War.

The proposal was put forward by communist party PCP and suggests hearings with at-the-time Prime Minister Durão Barroso, Minister of Defence Paulo Portas, Portuguese President Jorge Sampaio and Minister of Foreign Affairs Martins da Cruz.

The former politicians can refuse, however, to be heard.
