LAGOA’S POPULAR park in Largo 5 de Outubro is undergoing a two-phase renovation, representing a total investment of around 150,000 euros.
Joaquim Cabrita, a councillor from Lagoa Câmara, told The Resident: “The first phase is now underway and includes the construction of a new café kiosk as well as a brand new children’s park.”
He added that the old facilities at the park were so old they were now obsolete and that 15 extra car parking spaces have also been created around the park.
The second phase, which is due to start in January and finish in February, will involve the refurbishment of the garden itself. “Erythrina trees, which have red flowers between March and September will be replacing the existing trees, which residents have complained leave a mess on their cars,” said Joaquim Cabrita.
