The Algarveans Experimental Theatre Company is currently preparing for its next production, Aladdin, at the Lagoa Auditorium in February.
The show promises to be an entertaining family affair, with organisers saying that it will “turn us all into children again when we can boo and hiss and shout at the characters on stage”.
Promoter Jenny Grainer said: “Full to the brim with comedy, song and the corniest of jokes, the larger than life cast will whisk you away to a far off land of fantasy, magic and silliness where you can be anyone you want to be and believe in Genie’s, magic lamps, wishes and fairy princesses.”
A team has been busy preparing costumes, scenery and ingenious illusions while the cast have been steeping themselves in a story of old given a fresh twist but traditional to the core.
Shows will be held on February 3, 4 and 5 at 8pm with a matinee on the Saturday at 3pm. Tickets cost €10 for adults and €5 for children.
