It was scene of total panic. Bank tellers and clients were traumatised when a masked man burst into the Santander branch at Vilar do Paraíso, Vila Nova de Gaia, mid-morning, wielding a shotgun and demanding money.
At one point the man levelled his gun at a customer, who apparently went into a state of complete shock.
The robber then aimed at the ceiling, fired a shot, and ran off without taking anything.
Such was the panic, that no one can be sure whether the man made his escape on foot or by means of a vehicle. Nor do they know whether he had any accomplices.
Polícia Judiciária are investigating.
