A DIPLOMAT from Malaysia has apologised to Iraqi officials for mistaking a box of sweet pickles, sent to him as a Ramadan gift, for anthrax powder.
When he opened the box, he saw white powder and called the police. The powder was in fact sugar, used to preserve the pickles. The sender, Hoshiar Dazayi, said that the apology fell short of an official apology from the Malaysian government and the incident sparked an angry protest in Baghdad.
