Response to the pandemic cost Portugal €7.743 billion last year – almost all of it due to expenditure. The DGO (budgetary body) published figures today showing that €306.4 million referred to loss of revenue due “to measures adopted to combat and prevent Covid-19, as well as designed to return to normality”.
