Algarve-based animal rescue association, the APAA, will be holding their annual pancake day races on the beach in front of the Holiday Inn Algarve in Armação de Pêra on Shrove Tuesday, March 8.
This fun fundraising event will start at 11am and is open to everyone to take part with races for children and adults of all ages.
Entry to each race costs €1 with prizes being awarded to all the winners.
While the races are taking place, there will also be an opportunity to buy homemade chutneys, marmalades and jams from some of the APAA volunteers.
Other stalls will also be available, including one with second-hand books and another with the charity tombola.
Meanwhile, the hotel bar Boavista will be selling a selection of sweet and savoury pancakes with all the proceeds being donated to the APAA.
Pat Camplin-Smith from the APAA said: “The APAA is a registered charity and we are saving to buy land for a new rescue centre and need help and support to achieve this. So come and join in the fun and help us to swell the coffers!”
