The keen golfing ladies from Palmares recently played a friendly match against the ladies from Vila Sol.
The day turned out to be beautiful, despite being a little windy, which was rather challenging for some. There were five pairs from each team playing fourball better ball matchplay. After the golf, the ladies enjoyed a barbecue buffet lunch in the Palmares clubhouse.
During the short speech following lunch, The Palmares team captain Amanda Keighren welcomed Vila Sol vice-captain Jean Jenkinson and her team, and thanked them for participating “in such an enjoyable day”. Amanda also thanked Debora Andrade, the Onyria Palmares golf director, for providing courtesy of the course to the Vila Sol ladies.
The course was in superb condition, thanks partly to the weather conditions but mostly to the Onyria Palmares greenkeeping staff.
Jean thanked Amanda for the invitation and congratulated Palmares on their 5/0 win. They now look forward to the return match at Vila Sol later in the year.
