Dear Editor, Our very good friend passed away following a long illness of cancer. Lately he was looked after at home by his wife and Tavira Palliative Care Team, which is a very new venture.
The care, love and support they gave was outstanding, allowing our friend to die without pain, in peace and with dignity. The Palliative Care Team also visit the bereaved person to ensure they are looked after.
Obviously in the current economic crisis, they are short of funds so we hope to hold fundraising events and also to announce where donations can be sent. We cannot praise the team enough for the amazing love and care they gave. We hope that this letter will make more people aware of the work of the Palliative Care Team from the Centro de Saúde of Tavira.
