al-Qaeda suspect killed
Pakistan recently claimed to have killed one of its most wanted men, dealing a major blow to al-Qaeda’s operations. Pakistan’s security forces claim that the terror suspect died after a lengthy shoot-out. Officials have named him as Amjad Farooqi, wanted in connection with assassination attempts on Pakistan’s President and the murder of US reporter Daniel Pearl. Farooqi was reportedly killed at a house in Nawabshah in the southern province of Sindh. Three other men were also killed.
