Algarve – Artistic Impressions by artist Daniel Hasselmyr is a recently published hardback book that describes the author’s impressions of the Algarve in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Daniel Hasselmyr, a prize-winning international artist, has lived in the Algarve since the late 1970s and has been inspired by the old fashioned country and its people.
The paintings in the book capture the Algarve as it was in the years before mass tourism and EU membership changed it forever.
“The book is illustrated by the author’s prize-winning watercolour paintings, which depict environments that are mostly lost in the modernisation of Algarve that has taken part in the last 30 years.
“Additional black and white vintage photographs also show the Algarve in the beginning of the 20th century,” said the publishers D2 Creation.
The bilingual book, in English and German, is available for 24.50 Euros in bookshops or can be purchased from www.d2creation.com from November 1 (ISBN 978-0-9566792-0-8).
