The small village of Paderne in Albufeira reached the final of the ‘7 Wonders of Portugal’ competition but fell short of expectations, seeing the title of ‘Rural Village’ going to Sistelo (Arcos de Valdevez) instead. The gala ceremony announcing the winners was held on Sunday (September 3). Other winners include Dornes (Riverside Village), Fajã dos Cubres (Sea Village), Piódão (Remote Village), Castelo Rodrigo (Authentic Village), Monsaraz (Monument Village) and Rio de Onor (Village in Protected Area).
