Packed Allgarve programme

Visitors and residents across the Algarve will be able to take advantage of a packed programme of events with concerts by acclaimed artists, sporting spectaculars and medieval fairs all taking place this month across the region as part of the Allgarve schedule.

There is something for everyone, with one of the most popular annual events in the region, the Silves Medieval Fair, now falling under the umbrella of Allgarve. The impressive fair, which takes over the entire historical city, begins tomorrow (Saturday) and runs until August 15, with thousands of visitors being able to step back in time, dress up in medieval attire and sample some of the traditional entertainment on display throughout the winding streets of Silves.

For sporting fans, the Race of Champions (ROC) takes place at the Algarve Motor Park on August 8 and 9 and will see drivers racing head to head for the tile of the Champion of Champions and a place in the ROC Nations Cup World Final to be held in Düsseldorf in November.

International artists will be taking to the stage all month in the Algarve with Colbie Caillat, who will be performing some of her greatest hits including Bubbly, tomorrow evening from 10pm at the Monumento Eng Duarte Pacheco in Loulé from 10pm, followed by Anastacia on August 17 (see page 6 for further details) and Jamie Cullum entertaining the crowds on August 22 at the Balaia Golf Village in Albufeira from 10.30pm.

Meanwhile, for those looking for something a little different, the street performances, art and music that make up the White Night in Loulé in August turn the city into a vision of white and glamour on August 28 in celebration of the end of summer, while the magical Circo da Madrugada is sure to captivate audiences with their sky high performances on Praia dos Pescadores in Albufeira on August 8 and 9 from 10pm.
