Overdose ruling

AN AUTOPSY of Ike Turner has showed that a long history of cardiovascular disease and emphysema contributed to his death on December 12.

Turner was found dead at his home in San Marcos, near San Diego, of a suspected overdose at the age of 76 after he had struggled with cocaine addiction for more than 30 years. Turner was considered one of the founding fathers of rock music but the many scandals in his life overshadowed his musical accomplishments. After Tina divorced him in 1976, as a result of his violent and abusive manner, Turner soon turned to a life of drugs. His addiction to cocaine drained his finances and led to several arrests, most of which were drug related.
