Over one tonne of hashish was seized by GNR’s coastal control unit on Faro Island last Friday (October 22).
The drugs were recovered after members of the unit tried to intercept a “suspicious boat” that was approaching the Algarve coast, heading towards Praia do Garrão.
The suspects were able to escape by boat, but not before throwing the 30 bales of hashish they were transporting into the sea.
