Over 60s ‘three to five times less likely to die from Covid with complete vaccination’, meeting hears

The risk of death is three to five times less likely in people with complete vaccination (meaning two shots plus booster) over the age of 60, this morning’s meeting between pandemic experts and the government has heard. In the over-80s, in every 100 cases, 26.8 die; this drops to 8.6 with vaccinations, and to just five with the booster shot, Pedro Pinto Leite for the DGS has explained, adding that deaths currently from Covid-19 in Portugal are 19 per million, which is considered ‘moderate’.
