The Algarve Health Administration (ARS) has launched a campaign allowing people over the age of 60 who still have not received their Covid-19 jab to do so at any of the Algarve vaccination centres between 3pm and 5pm today and tomorrow (June 9-10). And to make the process even easier, over 60s do not have to book their vaccine in advance.
All they have to do is show up at one of the vaccination centres in Albufeira, Lagoa, Lagos, Loulé, Faro, Portimão, Silves and Olhão and ask to be vaccinated, the health authority says.
“You don’t need to book beforehand. All you have to do is take your citizen’s card and be eligible and a part of the Ministry of Health’s vaccination list (valid for the first dose and for those who have not yet booked their vaccination),” ARS adds.
The initiative, entitled ‘Happy Days’, is part of a measure announced by Portugal’s vaccination task force last week which aims to create specific hours and days for older citizens who have not yet been vaccinated for whatever reason to do so if they desire.
