The fruit and vegetable section is fitted with a water sprinkler system to keep everything super fresh in the hot summer months. Crisp green salad leaves, sweet onions and big juicy tomatoes will make a simple salad that goes with everything. When it comes to condiments, you’ll find all your favourites from home like Colmans Mustard and Heinz Ketchup along with local brands, which are very tasty too.
Refreshments are a vital part of any BBQ, and the wine selection is one of the best in the area, with a fabulous range of both Portuguese and international wines. During the summer, they offer tastings where you can try a variety of local producers and learn a bit about how the wines are made. If beer is more your thing, you’ll be spoiled for choice with lots of brands to choose from including the locals’ favourites Super Bock and Sagres.
The superstore has charcoal, firelighters, cooking aids, gas bottles and even BBQs for sale, so you won’t need to waste valuable holiday time shopping around. By the tills is the bakery, where they make fresh bread, but you can also find some pre-packed rolls and buns in the main store.
With your trolley stacked with all your essentials, there’s just a small matter of making sure you’ve got your sunscreen, and you’re ready to cook up a storm.
