Os Mosqueteiros – the group that owns the Intermarché, Bricomarché and Roady brands in Portugal – is planning to donate €162,000 to 12 charities across Portugal this Christmas.
The money will be divided between the charities depending on how many votes they receive on the initiative’s website (www.votosfelizes.pt).
The group will donate €2 for each vote a charitable institution receives. Each person can only vote once a day.
The selected charities include Banco de Bens Doados, Fundação Santa Rafaela Maria, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Boliqueime, Centro Social Paroquial de Lairnho, Ajudaris, Associação Baptista Shalom, Obra Social & Cultral Sílvia Cardoso, Associação de Solidariedade Social de S. Tiago de Fraião, Associação Centro de Convívio e Recreiro do Outeiro da Cortiçada, Associação de Solidariedade Social Alvorada na Serra, Associação de Solidariedade Social “Renascer de Bombel” and Casa do Povo de Vilarinho das Fontes.
“Despite the uncertainty we are all living, it’s important to remember the values associated with this season, namely solidarity and sharing,” said João Magalhães, the head of Grupo Os Mosqueteiros.
Voting is open until December 20. After voting for your chosen charity, you can share a digital gift card with your social media friends.
