Kate and John are experiencing strains in their marriage after a family tragedy. They adopt Esther, a nine year old Russian girl from the local orphanage. Kate grows suspicious about Esther’s background as she has a tendency to be around when things go wrong. In a quest for more information about the little girl’s childhood, Kate contacts the orphanage only to be told that there are no records of where Esther came from. Will Kate uncover the truth behind little Esther’s past?
