Operation “red nose” raises 14,400 euros for children in Portuguese hospitals

A fundraising campaign dubbed Operation Red Nose (ORN) and supported by 229 volunteers has raised around 14,400 for the “Seja Sorridário” initiative that pays for the visits by clowns to children in 13 pediatric hospitals. The money was raised between June 1-5 in Lisbon, Almada, Sintra, Cascais, Coimbra, Porto, Matosinhos and Braga. ORN says that every year, its red-nosed ‘doctors’ bring smiles to as many as 40,000 children.
