An Opera Night entitled ‘Laughter and Tears’ is taking place at Lagoa Auditorium on July 26 at 9.30pm.
Organised by Ideias do Levante, the show will see Carla Pontes (soprano), Francisco Brazão (bass-baritone) and Cristiana Silva (pianist) taking to the stage to perform scenes comparing comic and tragic opera through arias and duets from important operas by Donizetti, Puccini, Bellini, Verdi and Bizet. The show will be narrated by Paulo Segurado in Portuguese and in English. Tickets cost €8.
