For the first time at Vale do Lobo opera fans will be able to indulge their passion at an opera performance in the Vale do Lobo Auditorium on Saturday, November 20. The talented group of artists who comprise the Opera Viva group, aim to make opera accessible to all, prove it is anything but boring, and breathe life into the genre.
In this one-night-only performance, the five singers bring to life characters from many much loved and well-known operas, including Carmen, The Marriage of Figaro, La Traviata and Don Giovanni, in a show rich in history and culture. Despite performing arias from several operas, Opera Viva’s performance gives the impression of a complete opera, united by the performers’ charm and experience.
Opera Viva’s Artistic Director, experienced soprano, Yolanda Soares, has worked with some of the leading names in Portuguese music and theatre over the years. Ms Soares leads mezzo soprano Juliana Mauger, tenor João Pedro Azevedo, baritone Alexandre Jerebtzov and low baritone Pedro Alexandre Correia, accompanied by award-winning pianist Marina Delallyan and actors Paulo Carrilho and Pessoa Júnior.
