An evening to taste the culinary creations of Portuguese Chef Luís Mourão at the Epic Sana Algarve Hotel, in Albufeira, was complemented by a unique ‘Techno Opera Chill Out’ performance.
Dozens of guests, including the Algarve Tourism Board president Desidério Silva, attended the event that was held at the Open Deck restaurant by the poolside, and were treated to a three-course meal creatively prepared with fresh local produce.
The menu was composed of a starter of goat’s cheese, tomato and fig chutney and red fruit crumble, a ‘trilogy’ of pork with pea purée and rosti potatoes in a sauce of Ria Formosa clams for main course, and a strawberry parfait with chocolate and red berry coulis. The meal was accompanied by Vila Real wines from the Douro region.
With more than 20 years experience as a chef, Luís Mourão leads the kitchen team at the hotel’s Alquimia gourmet restaurant. He has previously been executive chef at the Hotel Convento do Espinheiro in Évora.
To warm up the hearts of the guests who braved the cold windy evening was the opera performance by four artists, who sang and danced to the sound of accompanying electronic rhythms.
The hotel is located in a prime location overlooking Falésia beach and surrounded by a pine forest.
