Once again the doors will be opening to the public at the Quinta dos Vales winery in Estombar over the weekend of October 15 and 16 between 1pm and 6pm.
The event is free and open to anyone to attend, with visitors able to learn about new red wines of the 2009 harvest while being able to enjoy the sculptures situated throughout the estate.
New wines being launched this year will include the Grace Touriga Nacional 2009, a wine whose predecessor has achieved acclaim and was selected as being one of the best in Viniportugal’s Top 10 Touriga Nacional in 2010.
As well as the wine there will be opportunities for guests to view show cooking from Chef Augusto Lima from the Xarme restaurant in Lagos, a paragliding demonstration, musical performances from local artists including Pedro Frias and DJ sets.
There will be a selection of special activities for guests that require pre registration including guided tours in English, German and Portuguese, a wine introduction class and a cooking class, with schedules of the events still to be determined.
Designed to be an event to appeal to all ages while showing off the facilities of the winery, visitors will be able to walk around the animal park, view the sculptures or enjoy free wine tastings between 1.30pm and 4pm.
