Open day sets everyone in the right mood to get fitter

Browns Sports & Leisure Club in Vilamoura hosted an Open Day on Saturday, October 3, when the public had the opportunity to check the facilities and activities on offer.

Kids karate, five-a-side football, yoga, body pump, body combat, kids rugby clinic, tennis and spinning classes were some of the activities on display on the day.

The Open Day also introduced everyone to Browns’ new and exclusive fitness class, Zumba Fitness, which, according to organisers, was enjoyed by all who participated in the demonstration.

The Health Club & Spa’s new addition, the Harumn Team, took advantage of the good weather and provided a workshop offering free deep tissue and therapeutic massages by the poolside.

The Sports Bar, which is open to the general public, had a 25 per cent discount on food and beverage on Saturday and was the venue for the official award ceremony, which brought the day’s activities to a close.

Organisers would like to congratulate the 10 members who won items in the prize draw, including a free month’s membership and a personal training session, and guest Ana Marquez who won a three month membership, worth 220 euros.

Congratulations also go to O’Neill’s Irish Bar who won the five-a-side football tournament and to Joshua Palumbo who took home the gold medal in the children’s 1km cross country race.

The event has been described as a “huge success” by event organiser Dominique Billa, who said: “It was wonderful to see so many faces, old and new. There was a constant flow of members, guests and movement throughout the club all day.”
