Oo-Boop-I-Do are in town

New to Portugal, the Oo-Boop-I-Do Band plays hot dance music from the nightclubs of the 1920’s and is orchestrated and introduced by a very entertaining Ian Carfrae.

Ian has recreated his Oo-Boop-I-Do Band, which was famous in the UK, on television and radio for its lively hot dance tunes and memorable evergreen classics from the likes of Duke Ellington, Fletcher Henderson and Paul Whiteman.

The reed section comprises: Ian Carfrae, Gemma Collington and Dawn Woodhurst. Trumpet: Albano Neto and Igor Morgado. Trombone; Vitor Afonso.  Rhythm section: Piano, James Mellor; Tuba, Ed Machado; Banjo, Ivor Jones and on drums, Tony de Sousa with Ian Carfrae, the stylish vocalist, complete with megaphone.

The Oo-Boop-I-Do Band’s next performance will be at the Museu de São Brás on Friday, November 3 starting at 8pm. Food and drinks will be available.
