I wonder what the point was of last week’s online poll (“Is changing to a left-wing government the best solution for Portugal?”). Portugal has no choice. The conservative right-wing party failed in a parliamentary vote, as all said it would; and only picked by a President who belongs to the same party. Perhaps this is a reason for not allowing politicians to stand for president?
The only thing that counts is whether they will listen and do what they told the electors they would for the Algarve: this will include IVA, A22 tolls and flood help. Or like past Lisbon elites, ignore voters and look after themselves.
