“Online error” gives people more time to submit invoices and tax returns

A technical error on Portugal’s ‘E-Factura’ portal has seen the government extend deadlines for people to register tax-deductible invoices and submit IRS declarations.

This means taxpayers now have until next Monday (February 22) to present invoices for tax deductible expenses.

Deadlines were also extended for tax returns. Employees and pensioners should submit theirs in April, while self-employed people have until the end of May.

Today (February 15) was meant to be the last day that invoices could be submitted for tax deductions, but a technical error has been preventing people from completing their submissions, said the Ministry of Finance.
