Vilamoura is the venue for the Algarve Property Show this month, promising to save buyers both time and energy in searching for the holiday home or permanent Algarve residence of their dreams.
The property market in the Algarve has been slow since the onset of the recession but unlike other destinations in southern Europe, the region has avoided the boom and bust scenario.
“Buyers looking for property in the Algarve today have the rare opportunity of acquiring property at prices not seen for many years,” said the event’s organiser Bruce Hawker, CEO of the publishing company Open Media, which partnered with the Algarve Regional Tourist Board to stage the show and with The Resident Group, publishers of the Algarve Resident, as official media partners.
The country may be going through difficult times but the Algarve continues to attract growing numbers of tourists, a good sign for property investors who seek to earn a rental return on their property. Recent statistics released by Faro International Airport prove there has been positive growth in arrivals this year with an increase of 20% over the first four months of the year compared to 2010.
The Algarve Property Show brings together some 30 exhibitors including leading developers and real estate agents. “The beauty of this event is that buyers can visit, meet the agent or developer and then go to visit a property straight away if they wish. You can’t offer that at an exhibition in the UK,” said Bruce Hawker.
Apart from meeting property professionals, a host of other activities are being organised to ensure that visitors will have an informative and enjoyable visit.
Tastings of regional Algarve wines will be a daily feature as will seminars covering all aspects of buying and owning in Portugal, from legal proceedings to home insurance, finance and healthcare.
A concert and gala event with one of Portugal’s top Fado singers is also planned with tickets to be offered at special prices to registered visitors.
An important attraction for those looking for a bargain property is the “Hot Property Auction”. Featured on the Algarve Property Show website and live at the event, this is not an auction in the real sense but all of the exhibitors have been invited to feature their best value for money properties both on the website and on a dedicated stand at the exhibition. Visitors can visit the properties ahead of or during the show and place offers on the properties.
The vendors have no obligation to sell below the quoted asking price but some bargains are sure to be secured.
Apart from developers and estate agents, exhibitors at the Algarve Property Show include various companies offering related services from building to interior design, financial services and legal advice.
The exhibition will be held at the Tivoli Marina Congress Centre from June 10 to 12 and entrance is free.
