One in three Portuguese is planning to go on holiday this Easter and the vast majority is choosing Portugal as their destination, a recent inquiry has revealed.
Portugal’s Institute for Tourism Development (IPDT) asked 220 people if they had holiday plans for the festive season, with 35.5% answering that they would be taking time off – this is actually down 3.4% on last year. Twenty-eight percent said they would be spending their holiday in Portugal, while the remainder was going abroad.
Out of the 64.5% who said they didn’t have any holiday plans, 40.5% said they don’t usually go on holiday for Easter, while 18.2% said they didn’t have enough money to do so.
