A study has found that one in three Portuguese (32%) do not have the financial means to pay for unexpected monthly bills, like “car-related problems, fines, medical treatments or home improvements”.
The percentage has increased compared to 2013 – when it was placed at only one in 10 people -and to 2014 when is affected only 24% of the population.
Conducted by Observador Cetelem, the study also found that only 15% can afford “an extra €100 per month”.
