One Green Way Residences sponsors ‘Golf’s Greatest Holes’ featuring Portugal

One Green Way Residences, a new residential golf community in Quinta do Lago, is sponsoring the second season of  popular TV show ‘Golf’s Greatest Holes’, airing on UK Sky Sports twice a day in the UK and Ireland (the series started on Tuesday, April 11), prior to an international roll-out from July.

Featuring 26 different courses, as well as numerous cultural hotspots throughout Portugal, the programme is hosted by former Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley and TV presenter Chris Hollins, playing iconic holes at Quinta do Lago, amongst many of Portugal’s other famous golfing destinations.

One Green Way Residences is also behind the annual One Green Way Invitational, an exclusive mixed Pro-Am tournament in Western Europe, featuring a glittering line-up of golf’s greatest names, including Bernhard Langer, Colin Montgomerie, Lorena Ochoa and Annika Sörenstam.

According to a press release by One Green Way Residences, the development is “perfectly suited to golfers looking for a second home in the sun from where to play golf year-round.  An investment led by SPX Capital, a renowned Brazilian asset manager with presence in London, USA and Singapore and developed by Green Jacket Partners, One Green Way sets out to foster a sense of community, balancing health and wellness with comfort and leisure.

“Situated on the 12th hole of the North Course at Quinta do Lago (redesigned in 2014 by acclaimed golf architect Beau Welling and Paul McGinley), all residences offer unrivalled access to one of the world’s best golf courses.  Community facilities within the development include a Trackman Golf Simulator, clubhouse with rooftop bar and restaurant, fitness centre, running track, swimming pool, secure play area and business centre.  A distinguishing design feature of the development is its stylish contemporary Mediterranean architecture and mature landscaping by global award-winning landscaper Cracknell.”

Commenting on the sponsorship, Daniel Schneider, founder of SPX Capital, said: “One Green Way Residences is delighted to be involved with the ‘Golf’s Greatest Holes’ series and we can’t wait to see Paul and Chris play Quinta do Lago when the show is broadcast. It is a great opportunity for golfers to see what a spectacular location and experience it is, and we look forward to welcoming visitors from around the world who want to enjoy everything that the Algarve has to offer.

Sarah Stirk, Sky Sports golf presenter and ambassador for One Green Way, commented: “As someone who owns a second home in Quinta do Lago and is passionate about golf, I will certainly be glued to this new series. Quinta do Lago, which recently hosted the One Green Way Invitational, a Pro-Am tournament attended by 60 ‘legends’, is much loved by many of the world’s greatest golfers – and with good reason.”

“Boasting the greatest density of quality championship courses in Continental Europe, Portugal was an obvious choice for Season Two of the show, thanks to its diversity of courses, from the sun-soaked coastal playground of the Algarve to the more rugged mountainous regions of Porto and the North,” continued the press release.
