Olive oil price leaps 63%

The average price of olive oil in Portugal between 17 July and 13 August rose by more than 63% compared to the same period in 2022, according to the agri-food Price Observatory platform that became available today. The Price Observatory compares the price evolution of a basket of 26 food products representing cereals, fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, eggs, olive oil and dairy products, with some products comparing production and consumption values. According to the data made available on the platform, the average consumer price of olive oil was €6.22 in the four weeks between 17 July and 13 August.
