Olive heist

GNR police in the Alentejo have mounted an operation entitled ‘Operação Azeitona Segura’ (Safe Olive Operation), and have already made two ‘good arrests’. Last week’s involved a young man and woman, aged 23 and 29 respectively, caught ‘red-handed’ with 30kg of olives stolen from a private property in Reguengos de Monsaraz. Previously another duo was foiled as it attempted to get away with 80kg of stolen olives.
