Six inmates from Olhão prison will be joining council workers to carry out “cleaning, maintenance and repair works” in Moncarapacho, Fuseta and Ilha da Armona.
The initiative is part of a cooperation protocol between the prison service and social reintegration authority (DGRSP) and Olhão council.
The works started on April 1 and are being carried out until May 10.
In a statement, Loulé council says that the inmates will be guided by municipal technicians.
