Seafood lovers are counting the days to Olhão’s popular seafood festival (Festival do Marisco), which will take place at the town’s Jardim Pescador Olhanense between August 10 and 15.
For the 30th year running, the event will feature a wonderful selection of fresh seafood and shellfish.
Mayor António Pina adds that while the “seafood and shellfish of Ria Formosa, cooked traditionally in great quantity and quality, will be the star of the event”, there will also be regional sweets, handicrafts and musical entertainment on offer.
Tickets can be purchased during the event, starting every day at 6.30pm – or beforehand via ticketline.pt
Entrance costs €9 (children over seven €4, under-6s free) except on August 10 (€12) and August 15 (€10), when Angolan singer Anselmo Ralph and Brazilian-Portuguese Daniela Mercury will be making star appearances.
Other big names due to perform are Júlio Resende, Ana Moura, Ana Bacalhau (Fado & Further), Richie Campbell, Mickael Carreira and José Cid.
