Even the most diehard supporter had come to terms with SC Olhanense spiralling into non-league obscurity next season, but to again snatch defeat from the jaws of victory was a bitter pill to swallow.
The latest team to plunder all three points from the José Arcanjo Stadium was Ac Viseu, another team on the cusp of relegation. In a first-half of few opportunities, it was home keeper Rodolfo Barata who kept the score sheet blank when he made a great save from Tiago Borges midway the half.
Ten minutes later and Olhanense were in front when Aldair made a jinking run through the heart of the Viseu defence and finished with aplomb past Rodolfo Castro.
Viseu were the more dominant side in the second-half as Olhanense close ranked and dropped deeper in the hope of catching the visitors on the break. The tactic nearly paid off – Jorman Aguilar was only denied when Rodolfo Castro pulled off a stunning save.
With 10 minutes remaining, the visitors levelled matters as Bura finished off a flowing move down the left. Within three minutes, the visitors took the lead when Moses crossed from the left for Zé Paulo to slot home. Once again, Olhanense had surrendered the lead and with it chalked up their fourth consecutive defeat.
Braga breeze into Olhão
On Saturday, SC Olhanense travel to Vizela, who themselves are fighting to avoid the drop, before entertaining SC Braga B at the José Arcanjo Stadium in Olhão on Wednesday, April 19 at 4pm.
