At a recent Olhanense football match I met a group of 12 British holidaymakers eager to find out how they could get tickets for the match against V.Guimarães.
After we’d sold them programmes and our
new lapel badge, I discovered that they’d read about the game in the Algarve Resident.
I know that Sporting Clube Olhanense and particularly President Isidoro Sousa are extremely grateful for your media exposure that has resulted in well over 300 expats from across Europe now following
the club.
The International Expats Supporters Group would like to thank your paper for its continued support of the Olhão football scene.
Only this week, I’ve received email enquiries from Ireland, Scotland and Yorkshire requesting fixture information and programmes, after people had visited your website.
In addition, through your column, can I thank all those who helped us to raise more than 2,000 euros last season for the Haiti Earthquake Appeal, Madeira Disaster Appeal and the Olhanense Junior Football Section.
