Another fruitless trip to the north has left Olhanense perilously close to the foot of the table. An 83rd minute penalty consigned them to a 1-0 defeat at Feirense who leapfrogged their south coast opponents to move into the top half of the table.
Only six points separate 15 teams from seventh place down to Olhanense who are 21st. The visitors were without Galassi, serving a one match suspension, and Januário missing through injury.
Once again Olhanense started brightly but failed to press home their early dominance. The home side nearly took the lead when Vasco Rocha fired wide midway through the half.
Porcellis and Serginho wasted chances as Feirense piled on the pressure in the second period but it was a Platiny spot kick with seven minutes remaining that sealed the points.
Manager Cristiano Bacci will be hoping for an improved performance when Olhanense entertain CD Mafra at the José Arcanjo Stadium, Olhão, on Saturday, kick-off 4pm. Olhanense are also at home on Saturday, November 21 when SC Braga ‘B’ are the visitors, kick-off 3pm.
