Free scoring centre-forward João Vasco has been allowed to return to his home in Viana do Castelo with only foreign players remaining in the Algarve.
According to an O Jogo article, João Vasco who joined Olhanense from Benfica e Castelo Branco in the summer, believes there is a possibility that the Campeonato de Portugal may decree that those teams currently in the play-off positions will go straight to the knock-out stages.
Vasco said: “I know it would be unfair for many teams, but it will be difficult to fit in midweek games at a non-league level as many players have full-time jobs.”
Olhanense are currently joint top of Division D along with Real SC (Lisbon).
The Directorate-General for Health and the government do not know exactly when the peak of the disease will be, which raises serious doubts about the Campeonato de Portugal, the third level of Portuguese football, being completed.
