Olhanense face financial struggle

Like many professional football clubs in Portugal, the SC Olhanense SAD (limited liability company) are in serious need of additional investment.
Lack of leadership and sponsorship at national level has left numerous clubs – outside the big three of Benfica, Sporting Lisbon and FC Porto – struggling for funds.
New investors are being courted by the present Italian syndicate, led by entrepreneur Igor Campedelli, with French as well as Italian investors in the frame.
With no home game for nearly a month and few other sources of income, there is an urgent need for a cash injection to cover wage arrears and running costs.
On the pitch the team prepared for their game against C.D. Aves with a useful workout at Ferreiras (Albufeira); Mastriani (2), Gonzales and Rodrigo António scoring in the 4-1 victory.
Following their 2-0 win at top-of-the-table Freamunde, it will be a confident Olhanense who entertain C.D. Aves at the José Arcanjo Stadium, Olhão (behind McDonalds on the EN125) on Saturday 29th November. Kick-off is 3pm. Chris Wright
