Olhanense chalked up their fifth consecutive win as they demolished 1º Dezembro at the José Arcanjo Stadium, Olhão last Sunday.
The team from Sintra found themselves two goals down after a quarter-of-an-hour as Reider Rodriguez and Sapara continued their fine vein of form. The Nigerian Sapara made it 3-0 seven minutes before the interval as Olhanense dominated proceedings.
Manager Vasco Faísca replaced Sapara with Fábio Pereira on fifty-nine minutes and it wasn’t long before the youngster added a fourth. Another second-half substitute Tiago Barros completed the rout in the last minute of the game.
Thirteen goals and clean sheets in their last three games has propelled Olhanense into a position where they could still make the promotion play-offs on the final day of the season. Despite there being uncertainty regarding the controversial abandonment of their recent game against Casa Pia, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has stated on their website that SC Real, Oriental and Olhanense could make the play-offs.
For this to happen Olhanense must win at Moura on Sunday whilst SC Real and Oriental need to lose. If this should happen Olhanense would be level on points with SC Real but their head-to-head results against the team from Queluz (Sintra) would see them qualify by a single goal.
