New manager Filipe Moreira wasted no time in getting Olhanense back to the attacking force that took the Campeonato de Portugal Division D by storm prior to Christmas. The lacklustre displays of recent weeks were replaced by a sharper and more focused approach away against Lusitano de Évora.
With 27 minutes on the clock, top scorer Hassan soared above the home defence to guide a left-wing corner into the top corner.
Six minutes later, a long-range rasping shot from João Vasco crashed off the underside of the bar and into the net via the Évora keeper Pedro Garcia.
Olhanense were comfortably in control until 15 minutes from time when a misunderstanding between Olhanense keeper Rodrigo and the normally reliable centre-back Joshua ended up with an own goal. The home side was suddenly full of confidence but were deflated within 60 seconds when a fast-following move down the left involving João Vasco, Hassan and Caleb set up skipper Leleco for his second goal in two games.
A comfortable 3-1 win that keeps Olhanense in second place two points below leaders Real SC who won 6-1 at Mineiro Aljustrelense.
Olhanense entertain Olímpico do Montijo at the José Arcanjo Stadium, Olhão, with an earlier than usual kick-off of 2pm as the game is being shown live on Canal 11 TV.
