Around 25,000 books are being given away by Faro’s emblematic Livraria Simões bookstore, which went bankrupt in 2015. All you will need is a flashlight and time, as electricity has been cut off and as new owners APOS (standing for Olhão’s cultural and environmental heritage association) explains, there are areas in almost complete darkness.
The date and time for this bookworm fest is Saturday (February 4) between 10am and 12.30pm.
