Odemira mayor hints at people trafficking ‘rackets’ in borough

José Alberto Guerreiro, mayor of Odemira has told reporters “there exists a problem (in Odemira) that goes beyond that connected with agricultural activity but is covered by it”. His suspicions that the little town is being used by people traffickers are being investigated by PJ police. But there are “other strange issues”, he said, referring to “many business transactions being done in cash”. More of this story tomorrow
