José Alberto Guerreiro, mayor of Odemira has told reporters “there exists a problem (in Odemira) that goes beyond that connected with agricultural activity but is covered by it”. His suspicions that the little town is being used by people traffickers are being investigated by PJ police. As he explained, there are supermarkets of less than 200 sq metres “which have 30 or 40 employees” on their books; spaces for the sale of drinks “with ten times the normal number of employees”.
