October hotel bookings reach 16-year high in Algarve

New data shows 71.8% of Algarve’s hotels were booked in October – the highest percentage since 2000 and a 4.4 percentage point increase compared to last year.

Hoteliers association AHETA says the largest increases were in British, Dutch, French and German markets, while the number of Spanish holidaymakers has been dropping since the start of the year.

October bookings in Algarve hotels have been increasing since 2009, when they dropped to the lowest point in the last 20 years (52.7%).
