One of the longest established beach restaurants in the Algarve, Caniço enjoys a spectacular location literally built into a cave in the cliff face below the Prainha resort between Portimão and Alvor.
The restaurant is accessed via a tunnel and elevator from the cliff-top above and features a café-bar at beach level with the dining area above offering lofty ocean views.
The food is traditional Portuguese with good-quality, fresh fish and seafood and a good wine list.
Open daily, for lunch and dinner. Closed during winter.
